I joined the faculty at IIT in the fall semester of 1999 after thirteen years in the US Government. I started as a database systems programmer and worked in various jobs. My most recent job was the project manager of a data warehouse project. I have been an adjunct professor at George Mason University, George Washington University, and the University of Maryland.

My research interests include information retrieval, integrating structured and unstructured data, and data mining. I recently published a book on information retrieval called Information Retrieval: Algorithms and Heuristics.
