Designed and implemented a tool for query log analysis used internally by editors and search developers. Gathered requirements from said users and developed and refined interface to suit their needs. Designed and implemented a prototype high-precision filter for search results based on natural language processing and worked with evaluation experts to develop methods for its evaluation.

I pursued my Ph.D. with the director of our lab, Dr. Ophir Frieder, IIT Research Institute Professor of Computer Science and an ACM fellow.  My thesis was on evaluating the effectiveness of search systems at retrieving relevant documents in dynamic, large environments such as the web. To that end, I develped dynamic evaluation methodologies and automatic evaluation techniques that enable repeatable evaluation as the collection, systems, and users' needs change over time. As I was supported by the lab, however, I was a key participant in a wide variety of projects:
